Many people buy a computer, only to find that it doesnt really fit anywhere. They can be big, awkwardly-shaped things, with a whole collection of wires and gadgets that all need somewhere to stand.

The solution is to get a computer desk. They dont cost much, and theyre specially designed to hold all the peripherals a computer needs. Theres space for the monitor, speakers and mouse on the top, a shelf for the keyboard, and then compartments at the bottom for the system box itself and even for a printer or scanner. A good computer desk will also have holes and routes for all the various cables that are needed to tie it all together and make it work. All you need is a comfortable office chair, and youre set.

With the rise of wireless networking, it is even possible to have computer desks in places you wouldnt otherwise have thought of, as long as you have an electrical outlet handy. All you need to do is add a wireless card to the computer and plug the connection into a router, and then you can use the Internet without having to run network cables all over the place. This works especially well in offices, where lots of computer may be networked together, or, worse, networked to one printer or server.

In larger computing environments, it is possible to get big computer desks that are set up for multiple computers, making it easier for a team to work together on them. Some desks even come with computers integrated, meaning that the working parts of the computer can be hidden much better, a bit like a kitchen with built-in appliances. However, the downside of too much integration between the computers and the desks is that it can make the computers much more difficult to repair if they happen to break.

An Easy Way to Build a Home Network

If you have more than one computer at home, you are probably better off connecting them or networking them together to use the same resources and receive the same internet connection. A home network is very easy to build. Here are some tips.

There are two main types of home networks, wired and wireless. While wired home networks are popular, but they require you to run wires from one computer to another. You might have to drill holes in a wall or run wire under the carpet.

If you dont want cords running all over the place, you can easily get rid of them with a wireless home network. Wireless home networks are extremely simple to set up. You only need a wireless router and a wireless networking card for each additional computer you would like to hook up. Most wireless networks can send and receive data lightning fast at megabytes per second.

Wireless networks are extremely inexpensive, you can hook up a few computers for less than $200. The great part of wireless networks is that all computers on the wireless network can use the same internet or other resources such as a scanning machine and printer. So if you are looking for a great way to share data and resources among your home computer, choose to build a home network.

Boxtrapper spam protection for your email

Spend a little time, you will found a solution that will save you lots of time, instead of wasted on screening those spam mails. I had found my best spam protection solution, and its a free solution. I am talking about boxtrapper email spam protection.

My web hosting plan with bluehost hosting, are come with boxtrapper email protection. And I can activate it for free. It uses a very effective method to block spam from reaching you. You can add people you know into your white list, and block spammer emails, or email with certain keyword that you want to blog, eg. Pill, jackpot, drugs, etc.

Simple and effective. Thats what I looking for. If the email sender that is not in your white list sent an email to you, he is require to reply to the verification email. And only once he is verified, the email will reach you. Email bots are not capable to fool this system.

Once I was having an email account that received a spam mail every 5 minutes, and its keep coming in like crazy. Its frustrated, and you cant do anything if your email account that not have the boxtrapper feature. Think again, you will need email spam protection for your email. And definitely, not all web hosting are offering this. http://www.bluehostreview.org/bluehost/bluehost-email/ will have more information about email account with bluehost and also boxtrapper features.

A good web hosting must have good email system, and a good email system must have an effective spam protection. Thats what I think.

IT Audits: Your Existing Customers

Look among your existing customers to determine who are good candidates for IT audits. You can do this based on the number of PCs they have. Generally, businesses that have more than five systems are really good possibilities for IT audits.

You will be checking around for UPSs and data line protection, real surge protectors, the right number of antivirus software licenses, good, active, valid subscription for the licenses to keep their antivirus and firewall up to date. You’ll also want to determine whether everything is updated, what theyre doing with routers, firewalls, network adjust translations, and other items that keep them protected.

Your Customers May Need Some Motivation

To generate demand for IT Audits:

o	Talk to your customers when theyre in the store
o	Do an outbound telemarketing campaign
o	Include a flyer with your invoices.
o	Do a solo mailing, either a letter or a postcard or a brochure

Jump on the current events. If there are viruses, power outages, etc., in the news, piggyback on those to get your message across. Create a sense of urgency in the offer of IT audits.

Make your IT audits at least have the perception of being discounted and put some kind of deadline on it. If you say its regularly $350, but now through a certain date it is discounted to $199 and due to demand, is limited to only the first 25 customers.

The Bottom Line about IT Audits

The urgency and the scarcity in terms of marketing will make a world of difference.

Toshiba are a great player in the TV market

In TVs, Toshiba is really pushing big, wall-mounted LCD TVs as a lifestyle item. It is trying to get away from the image of TVs as big, bulky items, hiding away and outsourcing its old CRT offerings to promote the flatscreen LCDs relentlessly.

This is a good decision for Toshiba, as their CRT TVs were mediocre at best, while their LCDs are some of the best on the market today. While expensive, as ever, they are extremely lightweight and come with very good software and extra features to help you get the most out of your TV viewing, such as automatic tuning, picture-in-picture, very quick channel changes, and all the other little things that add up to make a good TV much better than a cheap one.

If youre buying a Toshiba TV, you will find that it works much better if you actually mount it on the wall as intended. The best thing to do is to clear a space that you know works perhaps take down a painting and measure it, and then take the measurements with you when you go to the showroom. Hopefully the showroom will have the LCD TVs hanging on walls to allow you to see how they will look in that environment, and they should be able to provide the exact measurements for any given TV for you on request.

Even though Toshibas LCD TVs are selling well, they know that nothing is forever. However, they tend to be a company that leads rather than follows, and theyve got an ace in the hole: theyre already working on SED, a possible successor to LCD. These screens will again be flatscreen and look much like existing LCD TVs, except that they will be capable of displaying much higher resolutions, such as those output by top-end HDTV thats high-density TV, the next-generation broadcast standard. However, there is as yet no known release date for SED TVs.

Computers at war in the 70s and 80s

The 70s and the 80s could be easily described as the computer war. Every company had a new kind of computer, better than the last that they wanted to change the world. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before one was adopted as the standard, with all the advantages for software compatibility this would bring and they were desperate for it to be their model that made the big time.

In the 70s, two computers nearly became dominant: the Apple II and the Commodore 64. Both of these computers sold in the millions, inspiring a whole generation they were used for everything from office tasks to games.

It was in 1980, however, that IBM launched its IBM PC, and things really went crazy. IBMs PC wasnt patented. IBM went to a small company named Microsoft to get an operating system for this computer, and ended up with DOS, but Microsoft was willing to license DOS to anyone else who paid their fee. By 1984, IBM PC compatible computers were available, and a de facto standard was born. Software makers could finally write their programs for one operating system and one hardware configuration and anyone computer that didnt follow the specification to the letter was quickly left with no programs to run.

In 1990, Microsoft released Windows 3.0 (the first version of Windows to be really successful), and the PCs lock on the marketplace was set in stone. The release of the Pentium and Windows 95 made it finally the fastest, cheapest and easiest system around, and it quickly stopped making sense to develop software for anything else.

From then on, the PC was the dominant computer today, it is estimated to have between 95% and 98% of the market, with almost all the rest being held by Apple Macintosh computers.

Is your computer performing at the speed it’s suppose to be? Is your computer throwing up odd messages that have no relevance to what you’ve got installed?

Chances are you haven’t been maintaining it the way you should be. Common problems which users ask over and over again why their computer is slow or why does an application have problems locating certainly necessary files.

Common things to do involve de-fragmenting your computer hard drive and also clearing up temporary files which clog up your folders.

One particular item of administration that people often forget is Registry Cleaning.

Quiz Yourself About Your Love With Computers

Computes and Internet are the key to the Information world we live in. People talk less and chat more on the Internet. Online games are becoming more popular than anybody could ever imagine. Chat rooms are always crowded and emails are the preferred method of sending messages. Messengers are becoming the preferred method of talking across the globe. The earth has gone flat no doubt.

Computers, programming, searches, Internet, downloads, blogging, websites, all these words are becoming so common that no body can imagine that it all started not many years back. Today across all the ages, this is equally popular. Latest innovations are appearing everyday and companies are minting money online. All this was never predicted but this has become a reality.

Is people to people contact is suffering because of Internet? Are we searching for unnecessary information and over loading ourselves? When so much information was not available to us, we could live, isnt it? Then why do we search for any and everything online? Does that make our life better? In the earlier days, people took time to write letters to each other. Now it is sending a mail, which somehow does not have that personal touch. Language is also suffering because of the new lingo of the cyber world.

I sometime imagine of people living in a peaceful area away from our civilization. Give them computers and connect them with Internet. Will they not lose all the peace they had before?

Eight key tips for CD Duplication Preparation

The master of your CD or DVD disk, is of the utmost importance for replication or duplication. Here are some tips which may help you create a high quality master disc:

1. Always use the highest quality discs that you can obtain. Do your research, take your time, then choose a brand that will produce a high quality disc each and every time you duplicate or replicate.

2. Avoid copying from a network source if at all possible. If the source files for your disk are on a network drive then copy the files to your computer before you burn a disc. If you can’t, try using the copy to hard drive first feature. When doing this, your
burning software will create a temporary image file during the burning process. Once the burning has been completed, it will delete the temporary file.

3. Avoid burning on a laptop computer that is low on battery power. The fluctuations that will occur in the available battery power may cause poor results.

4. Ensure that you finalise your disc. If you fail to finalise, the disc may not play back. Finalising will also help increase the reading compability in other CD-ROM drives.

5. Never use the packet writing method to burn a master disc.

6. Avoid any type of impact or movement of the drive when burning. Movement can cause the laser to skip or jump tracks which in turn may lead to errors or a bad disc.

7. Use the “burn-proof” feature if possible. This will allow the drive to slow down the burn speed if your computer can’t supply data fast enough. It may increase the burn time but the quality of the disc will be enhanced.

8. Avoid having multiple applications open when burning. This can adversely affect your computer’s ability to supply data to the burner.
